OUR ACCREDITATION
Vanguard College is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) Commission on Accreditation (5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Ste. 130, Orlando, FL 32822, 407.207.0808) to grant certificates and degrees at the Associate and Baccalaureate levels. ABHE operates across North America and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), establishing a standard for credit recognition at Christian Schools across North America.
What is Accreditation?
Accreditation means the assurance of quality. It requires every part of a school or program to be examined and judged by experts who are also peers. If the school or program receives accreditation, it means that it lives up to its promises to students. You can trust what the school or program tells you about its courses, its teachers, the services it provides and what you will need to pay (tuition and fees). When a school or program indicates that it is accredited, it means that it has received a 'seal-of-approval'. Accreditation is reaffirmed every ten years through an institutional self-study and peer evaluation process.
How Does Accreditation Help Me Make Smart Choices?
Accreditation protects you because it requires that schools and programs demonstrate patterns of evidence indicating quality assurance for the public. Before you even get to a college or university, accreditators have done an extensive background investigation and evaluation of the school you plan to attend. You cannot do all this work on your own, so accreditors have made sure that you have reliable information about a wide variety of aspects that will impact your educational experience.
