At Vanguard College, we are committed to helping our students graduate with as little debt as possible. This year, we will give away over $220,000 in scholarships and bursaries.  

97% of students who apply for entrance scholarships qualify for anywhere from $500 - $3000. Find out what is available for you!

DUE DATE:
August 1 for Fall entrance term, December 1 for Winter entrance term, and April 1 for Spring entrance term.

Available to NEW incoming program students who are full-time (taking a minimum of 10 credits)
 

ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP - up to 10% of tuition

An overall average of 75% in five Grade 12 subjects.  

At least 1 in each of:

  • Language Arts course
  • Math or Science course
  • Social Sciences, Fine Arts, or other Language course

Including 2 in any other subject

*Post-Secondary Transcripts or a SAT may be considered provided that, the student has completed a Grade 12 diploma and at least one full semester (12 credits) of study at the Post-Secondary level. This includes Journeymen certification. Other accredited certifications may be considered.

RELOCATION BURSARIES - up to 15% of tuition

  • The student must be relocating to attend an on-campus program.
  • The student must choose one of the following:
Out of Province Bursary  - up to 10% of tuition
  • Available to new students who live outside Alberta and relocate to attend at Vanguard College.
  • Not available to students who relocate more than 4 months prior to enrolling.
  • Students who re-locate out of province during the school year will forfeit their second disbursement of the bursary.

Housing Bursary - up to 15% of tuition

  • Available to new students living in Student Housing for their first year.
  • Limited to the number of spots available.
  • Students who leave housing mid-year will forfeit the remainder of the bursary.
     
     

VOLUNTEERISM BURSARY - up to 20% of tuition

  • Available to students volunteering on a regular basis in the 12-month period prior to enrolling.

*The scholarship committee considers ongoing weekly/monthly engagement such as tutoring, youth leader, children’s worker, soccer coach, etc. as a definition of regular involvement.

FAMILY/MINISTRY SUPPORT BURSARY (10% Discount)

Sibling - Available to students that have a sibling attending Vanguard College full time

Spouse - Available to students that have a spouse attending Vanguard College full time

Student's Parent in Ministry - Available to student’s who have a parent that is involved in full-time ministry as a pastor or missionary

Student's Parent an Alumni - Available to student’s who have a parent that graduated from Vanguard College, Vanguard College Online (formerly IBOLT) or Northwest Bible College with a certificate, diploma or degree

Attending a PAOC AB NWT District Church - Available to students that have been attending and serving at a PAOC AB AWT district church for at least 1 year prior to attending Vanguard College

PREVIEW DAY BURSARY - $300

  • Available to students who enroll in full-time students within 3 years of attending a Vanguard College Preview Day.

EARLY BIRD BURSARY - $500

  • Available to students who submit a Vanguard College Application for Admissions by February 1 st and enrol as a full-time student in the upcoming fall term.

55 PLUS DISCOUNT - 20% off Tuition

Available to individuals 55 years of age and older.
